In case you’ve run out of ideas and you don’t know how to choose a color that suits you, I have some tips for you. Indeed, sometimes we don’t feel comfortable wearing any type of color because, just as with white, there are so many different shades of colors and only some of them suit us. So, today we begin with the palette of colors for the light pigmentation, cold and warm.
1. Light and cold pigmentation
Like I mentioned in the first article, “How to Wear White“, for this kind of pigmentation it’s best that all the colors have an undertone of cold blue. These will emphasize your eyes’ color. The right choice of colors for you is: pale violet, lavender, pale grey, orchid, light fuchsia, amethyst, rose.
Here are some combinations with these colors for different types of outfits:
Casual: lavender and blue, amethyst and pastel pink, pale pink and bright pink, rose and bleu ciel;
Business: steel-grey and white pink, medium grey and orchid, metallic blue and navy blue, oil and sea green;
Special occasions: pale grey and crimson, pale pink and orchid, lavender and amethyst, sea green and turquoise.
2. Light and warm pigmentation
The right colors for this pigmentation are those which have in their composition a little yellow, in order to emphasize your hair color and the traits of your face. The ideal palette of colors for light and warm pigmentation is: coral pink, salmon, peach, lemon, light golden, chartreuse (yellow-green), light green moss, navy blue.
Ideal combinations for different occasions:
Casual: pastel pink and light green moss, peach and oil, blue lavender and shocking pink, watermelon and cream;
Business: light green moss and steel-grey, coral pink with grey, salmon and electric blue, golden and light grey;
Special occasions: crimson and coral pink, peach and coral pink, chartreuse and kelly green, light teal and turquoise.
In the next article you’ll find out about other color combinations for 2 more types of pigmentation, intense cold and intense warm. I hope the illustrations I made will help you visualize better what I wrote and I hope they inspire you to dress colorful!
